👋 Meet the Focus Timer: Your New Companion for Focused Work
The Focus Timer allows you to structure your work with timed focus sessions and scheduled breaks. Our goal is to help you master your days by maximizing your focus and minimizing distractions.
🖥️ Desktop only: To use the Focus Timer, download our desktop app. Download it at this link: https://akiflow.com/download
How to Use the Focus Timer
You can open the Focus Timer and start your Focus cycle from the dedicated ⏱️ icon in the desktop app header.
Four (4) work sessions make up one full Focus cycle. Each work session lasts 25 minutes by default, but this is customizable depending on your preferences.
There is a 5-minute short break after each work session. After the 4th work session, there is, by default, a longer break of 15 minutes.
Customizing the Focus Timer
Hover over the ⏱️ icon and click the three dots to open the Settings to modify timer durations or to enable/disable the floating widget.
Floating Widget
The floating widget remains visible on screen but can be hidden by toggling off the “Floating widget” option in the Settings. To re-enable it, go back to the Settings and toggle the option back on. Akiflow remembers your preference (open/closed) for future sessions.

Managing Tasks with the Focus Timer
☑️ Tasks: The Focus Timer will show your current task in the calendar, so the first task in your Today Page‘s "Schedule in calendar" section, based on your sorting option.
❤️🩹 Oops: If that section is empty... well you should plan tasks in your calendar (read: Plan your tasks) 😉 but until then, the Focus Timer will show your To-Dos and Overdue tasks.
You can choose which task you want to focus on and navigate between tasks by using the arrows keys to change the visible task. When you complete that task (by ticking off the checkbox), the next scheduled task will be displayed.
🔔 Sound: With a nice sound, it’ll remind you when it’s time to start a break or your next Focus session. You got this! 💪
